Decal Firing Instructions
- Clean Glass prior to starting the process. Glass should be wiped with a wet paper towel to remove any dust or fingerprint oils before applying decals.
- For best results, it is recommended to use distilled water. Place decal in room temperature water for 30-45 seconds. Do not leave the decals in the water for longer than 60 seconds. It will adversely affect your firing quality.
- Slide decal off paper and place on clean glass
- Blot decals with a balled paper towel to remove excess water. Do NOT use a rubbing motion, just press straight down.
- For best results, store decals in an airtight container and keep at a constant room temperature. Wait until the next day to fire so that all the molecular moisture has evaporated.
If cannot wait one day, another drying option is to place the glass into an oven at 100 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-2 hours.
If any moisture is left, it will turn to steam during thre fire process and put a hole in the decal.
- Decals need oxygen, they fire best in a vented oven
Decals should be fired at a temperature of no less than 1080 degrees Fahrenheit. Oven should take about 1 hour 15 minutes to reach peak temperature.
Hold oven at peak temperature for about 15 minutes.
